Morning check out from the hotel and proceed to Metupalayam for toy train towards coonoor. On arrival, visit the tea factory and the railway station. Optional lunch at Taj Coonoor and drive on to Ooty and an orientation drive (88 Kms/1.5 hrs. Drive) .

After breakfast proceed for a half day city tour
Visit the Botanical Gardens, established in 1847. It has a large variety of exotic and colourful plants. Also visit the Lake where boating is a favorite pastime(which can be arranged on direct payment basis) and Doddabetta Peak, the highest point in the Nilgiri mountains (2623 metres high) offering spectacular views of the valleys below.

After breakfast at hotel, drive to Coonoor (19 kms) .
The main attraction within the town is Sim’s Park, a small well maintained botanical garden that has several varieties of plants. It is spread over 12 hectares. It also hosts an annual “Fruit Show” in summer.
There are trekking trails leading out from the town. One of the popular trekking trails leads Tourists to Lamb’s Rock that is 9 km from Coonoor. Lamb’s Rock overlooks the Coimbatore plains, providing a spectacular view of the tea and coffee plantations. A little ahead of Lamb’s Rock is located the Lady Canning’s Seat that offers a panoramic view of the Nilgiris.

After breakfast, drive to Cochin.
Arrive Cochin and proceed for Cochin sightseeing includes Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, St. Francis Church & The Chinese Fishing Nets followed by Kathakali dance in evening.

Day trip to Kumbalangi Village which include Crab Farm visit, dehusking of coconut and processing, making coir fibre from coconut husk, agriculture farm visit and Chinese Fishing Net operation.
Then drive to Munnar (135 kms/3.5 hrs. drive). On arrival, check-in at hotel. There are enchanting high ranges, lakes and streams and beautiful views of low-lying clouds and mist filled valleys.
Later visit to “Pothamedu”, located 6 km from Munnar and which offers an excellent view of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations of Munnar. “Devikulam” is located 7 km from Munnar; this idyllic hill station with its velvet lawns, exotic flora and fauna and the cool mountain air is a rare experience.

Morning visit the Kulukkumalai Tea Factory by Jeep. Then drive to Kumarakom (180 kms/04 hrs drive).
Kumarakom, the backwaters are called the jewels of Kerala. In this small water world you will come across plenty of traditional country craft boats and canoes which will take you into the heart of the scenic lake.
Late afternoon proceed for a boat ride i.e. Sun set cruise on Vembanad Lake. You will come across many rare species of birds present in the Kumarakom bird sanctuary, returning to their nests with the sunset.

Today after breakfast you will be driven to Periyar (150 kms/04 hrs. drive).
In the afternoon, drive to the wildlife reserve at Thekkady on a scenic route dotted with plantations of rubber, cardamom, cocoa, green pepper and areca nut. Arrive Thekkady and check-in at the hotel.
In the evening enjoy the most popular boat trip at the National Park. There are many animals to see including herds of elephants, bison and packs of wild boars that roam through the woods and parade along the shores of the lake just before sunrise and sunset.

After breakfast, early morning go for a short trekking inside the Periyar Sanctuary. check-out from hotel and drive to Madurai.
Arrive Madurai, start sightseeing the famous Meenakshi Temple. People are blessed by the temple elephant. Visit also the Tirumalai Nayak Palace and Gandhi Museum.
Meenakshi Temple is an outstanding example of Dravidian temple architecture, with towering Gopurams covered with stucco images of gods, goddesses and animals. The sanctuary is open only to Hindus.
Later return to the hotel. Late evening visit to Meenakshi temple for the Aarti ceremony with a fanfare during which the god Shiva is lead to the bedroom of his wife, Meenakshi.

After breakfast, depart for the Great Chola Capital Tanjore (The Rice Bowl of Tamil Nadu) via Trichy. Sightseeing of Trichy, a town situated on the banks of river Cauvery, visiting the famous “Sriranganathaswami temple” at Srirangam. It is surrounded by seven concentric walls and 21 towers called “Gopurams”. At the next site we visit the “Rock fort temple” at the main town, 437 rock-cut steps will take us to the Ganesh Shrine, commanding a breathtaking view of the entire town of Trichy.
Arrive Tanjore and start your tour of the world famous Brihadeshwar temple. The temple built by the Cholas is very special for its architecture. The most surprising is that the temple does not have a shadow falling on the surrounding grounds at any time of day but falls on its own structure.

After breakfast, drive to Pondicherry (150 kms./3.5 hrs. drive), a charming coastal town that was formerly a French colony, still has a few touches of French culture. Arrive Pondicherry, check-in at the hotel.
In the afternoon go on a sightseeing tour to the French Tamil quarter and the world famous Sri Aurobindo Ashram, a spiritual center founded on modern sciences and yoga.

After breakfast, proceed to Kanchipuram– the ancient capital of the Pallavas, famous as a city of 1000 temples that still has 124 shrines. The first temple dedicated to Shiva was built in the 7th and 8th centuries and has paintings on the walls. Temples of Ekambaswara, Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy are of interest. After visiting Kanchipuram proceed for Mahabalipuram.
Arrive and check-in to the hotel, later visit the city of Mahabalipuram famous for the seven pagodas.

After breakfast, drive to Chennai, visit Kapaleeshwar temple. This ancient shrine dedicated to Shiva is centrally located and among the area’s most popular landmarks.
At noon, visit the “National Art Gallery and Government Museum”, which houses a fine collection of items in various sections of geology, archaeology, numismatics, anthropology, botany and zoology. Later, visit Marina Beach, which extends from Fort St. George all the way to Mahabalipuram.
